Biography

Amanda Brown was a British tennis player who played professionally from 1982 to 1986. As a junior player Brown won the girls’ singles championship at the Australian Open in 1982 and 1983. Brown reached the second round at Wimbledon in 1983 and 1984, and the second round at the Australian Open in 1985. Brown competed in the singles tournament at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics when tennis was a demonstration sport. She beat Mercedes Paz of Argentina in the first round before losing to Italy’s Raffaella Reggi-Concato in round two.
