Biography

Ed Kirwan was a substitute quarterback on the West Team at the 1932 Olympic demonstration. Kirwan, however, was critical to the West victory as he kicked the winning extra point in the 7-6 game. Kirwan played at U Cal Berkeley, and later worked as a salesman until World War II. He served in the Army in both World War II and Korea. His brother, Nick Kirwan, played football for Stanford and was the quarterback under Pop Warner in the 1925 Rose Bowl against Notre Dame.
