Biography

George Watkins was the starting quarterback for the West Team in 1932. He was mostly a running quarterback. Watkins was from Oakland, California, graduated from Oakland Technical High School, and played football at U Cal Berkeley from 1928 through 1931, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. After college, he worked in the Los Angeles area and joined the United States military in 1940 to fight in World War II. He was killed in the March 19, 1945 bombing of the USS Franklin.
