Biography
Mike Epstein played baseball at U Cal Berkeley, graduating in 1964. He was a first baseman who played with the USA at the 1964 Olympic demonstration baseball tournament. After the Olympics Epstein signed with the Baltimore Orioles.
Epstein started out in the minor leagues but was brought up to the bigs in 1996 for a few games with the Orioles. He then played in the Major Leagues continuously through 1974, first with the Orioles, and then with the Washington Senators, Oakland Athletics, Texas Rangers, and California Angels. With the Athletics in 1972, Epstein played on a World Series Champion. During his career Epstein batted .244 with 130 home runs.
In 2007 Epstein later opened his own baseball hitting school in California. He was inducted into the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2004.
