Jimmy Arias

Jimmy Arias turned pro in 1980 at age 16, and in 1983, reached a world ranking of #6. He was ranked #5 in the world just before the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. Arias won five titles in the ATP Tour, and his best Grand Slam finish was in 1983 when he reached the semi-finals of the US Open. His biggest victory was the 1983 Italian Open. Arias did win the 1981 French Open mixed doubles, accompanied by Andrea Jaeger.

Arias later became a tennis coach at the University of South Florida. He has also done some television commentary for the Tennis Channel and ESPN International, and in Canada, with the CBC and Rogers Sportsnet.
