Biography

Austrian flatwater canoeist Hermann Salzner participated in the 1956 Melbourne Olympics over 10,000 metres in the kayak doubles with Alfred Schmidtberger and finished 11th. Salzner then moved to the 4x500 metres relay event and placed third in their repêchage at the 1960 Rome Olympics. In 1954 he won a bronze medal at the World Championships in the 4x500 metres kayak relay.
