Biography

Norbert Sattler was an Austrian slalom canoeist who was prolific during the 1970s, winning the national championships 35 times. Sattler won the silver medal in the K-1 event at the 1972 München Olympics when white-water events were held at Augsburg. During his career he won five medals at the Canoe Slalom World Championships, including two golds.

Sattler travelled the world to train other white-water canoeists spending time in South Africa, Japan, and the United States. He later returned to Austria to run a kayak school with his sister Barbara.
