Biography

Austrian canoer Karl Steinhuber participated in the 1936 Berlin Olympics, partnering Viktor Kalisch in the kayak doubles over 10,000 metres. The pair won the silver medal, clearly beaten by the Germans Paul Wevers and Ludwig Landen. At European Championships, Steinhuber and Kalisch won one silver (1933) and two bronze medals (1934, 1936). Steinhuber was a tailor by profession.
