Biography

Tasha Schwikert-Warren was a gymnast who won a bronze medal with the USA team at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She was the US all-around champion in 2001 and 2002 and competed internationally through 2004 when she attempted to make the US Olympic Team but came up short.

At the World Championships Schwikert-Warren won a team gold medal in 2003 and a team bronze in 2001. At the 2001 Pan American Games she won medals in all six events with golds in the team event, all-around, and uneven bars, and silver medals in the beam, floor, and vault. Her other major titles included a US Championship on uneven bars in 2004 and all-around titles in the 2002 American Classic, American Cup, and at the 2002 Pacific Alliance Championships she won the all-around, beam, and floor.

The USA women’s team at the 2000 Olympic Games initially placed fourth in the team competition. It was discovered in 2010, however, that a member of the Chinese team, Dong Fangxiao, had competed under a falsified age, and was too young for the competition. Her results were nullified, and China was stripped of the bronze medal, advancing the United States to third place. The US women were given their bronze medals at a special ceremony prior to the men’s event at the 2010 US Championships.

After 2004 Schwikert-Warren enrolled at UCLA where she competed on the Bruins’ gym team for four years. She was NCAA all-around champion in 2005 and 2008 and won the NCAA title on the uneven bars in 2008. After college Schwikert-Warren attended law school at the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She completed a judicial clerkship in the Eighth Judicial District Court under Joanna Kishner and Mark Denton, and she began a law practice, focusing on property and real estate.
