Biography

The two sisters Consuelo and Georges Fould seem to have inherited their mother Valérie Simonin’s artistic talents; she took the artistic pseudonym Gustave Haller as an actress and sculptor. They were both students of the painter Ferdinand Roybet. Having been adopted by their stepfather, Prince George Stirbey, they became owners of the castle and park Becon that they bequeathed to the city of Courbevoie, which supported to create a museum Roybet Fould. Georges was a member of the Société des Artistes Français and the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts and exhibited in numerous salons. Her main works included life-size representations of genre scenes in costumes from the 16th to 18th centuries, mostly with female themes. She lived in Asnières, then in Paris and Courbevoie.
