Biography

Louis Denis-Valvérane was an Illustrator, who studied in Paris and later worked as a designer and cartoonist. He used several pseudonyms during his life, such as Val d’There, Valdes, Valdex or Denis Volx. He also acted as a writer and wrote a memory around the figure of Mistral, Lou Maïanen. Denis-Valvérane began exhibiting regularly around 1901 and in 1925 won the silver medal of the French Artists Salon. His talent was displayed in the most varied disciplines, watercolor, oil, encaustic, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and in the most diverse genres, including illustrated for youth and fashion plates.
