German painter Karl Hahn studied at the Dresden Academy and completed his studies after World War I under Ludwig von Hofmann. He served in both World War I and II as a soldier. Later he worked as a freelancer in Dresden. In 1953, he was expelled from the Association of Visual Artists in the GDR. The painting Am Tor (At the Goal) was shown in 1930 at the exhibition of the Dresden Art Cooperative.
