Biography

Enrico Bianchini was a specialist in the calculation of reinforced-concrete structures. He helped design and supervise the construction of works such as the motorway from Firenze to the Tyrrhenian Sea, and with the arch protecting the cableway of Serravalle Pistoiese. He was also engaged with the construction of the stadiums of Torino and Lucca, the Dante Rossi Casa Littoria in Firenze, and the University of Trieste.

Bianchini had studied art history in Pisa and then civil engineering in Roma. He then worked as a constructing engineer and site manager. In 1931 he began his 20-year collaboration with Raffaello Fagnoni. In 1932, he was involved in the construction of the “Stadio Benito Mussolini” in Torino, his contribution to the art competitions in 1936 together with Dagoberto Ortensi and Fagnoni. Later he founded his own construction companies, which implemented major projects such as power plants.
