Biography

Swiss painter Lotti Lobsinger-Schibli became well-known for her paintings of children and animals, and after 1937 increasingly for sporting illustrations for technical magazines and daily newspapers. She also produced calendars and illustrated sports literature. Lobsiger-Schibli studied until 1931 at the “Gewerbeschule” in her hometown of Bern, and then went to Berlin to attend the Reimannschule for one year. She was also involved in the design of the Federal Gymnastics and Sports School in Magglingen planned by architect Edy Knupfer.
