Biography

Nils Sture Frölén was mainly involved in the construction of homes and residential properties, primarily functionally oriented. He mainly built houses including garages in the underground and service units in the ground. In addition, he also designed industrial and hospital buildings and about 35 schools. In 1948 he participated together with Eskil Lundahl in the Architectural Competition.

The planned outdoor pool in Uppsala was the Fyrisbad on the banks of the river Fyrisån. The already existing bath, which was operated by the association Upsala Simsällskap since 1925, was finally replaced in 1959 by the construction of Frölén. Today, there is a large sports complex under the name “Fyrishov” with an indoor pool and several sports halls have been created.
