Beata Beach was the daughter of Chester Beach. She was born in Rome, Italy, and later married Vernon Carroll Porter (1896-1982), an artist who made great efforts to help his colleagues all the time to overcome the Great Depression in the early 1930s by funding their exhibitions. She herself was a painter, designer, illustrator, and etcher.
