Biography
Although entered in the 1896 high jump, J. Stanley Edwards did not compete at the Athina Olympics. Edwards was a football player at the University of Denver. He later became a life insurance executive and a trustee at his alma mater. Edwards became an American citizen in 1884 when his father was naturalized.
