Biography

Sebastian Bea was a rower who won a silver medal in the pair at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. He rowed in college at U Cal Berkeley, graduating in 2001, and was the son of federal judge Carlos Bea, who played basketball for Cuba at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. Sebastian Bea was on the US National Team from 1997-2000 and also won a gold medal in the eights at the 1997 World Championships.

Bea went into finance, initially with Credit Suisse. He then worked for Black Rock SAE, managing hedge fund strategy and distribution. He was later President of One River Asset Management and eventually became President of Coinbase Asset Management.
