German sailor Frank Thieme partnered Stefan Meister in the two-person keelboat (470 class) at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and finished in a disappointing 17th place. Thieme won eight German national titles, and a bronze medal at European Championships.
Thieme became a bank clerk by profession. Later he sailed with his wife Ute in the Korsar mixed class representing Berliner Yacht Club and they won several national and international German championships.
