Biography

Although he was born in South Africa, swimmer Michael Windisch held a dual residency status to compete internationally for his parents’ homeland Austria.

Windisch represented Austria at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, where he was eliminated in the heats in three events: 200 metres butterfly, and 200 and 400 IM. He studied international business at the University of Nebraska in the United States.

Personal Bests: 200 m butterfly – 2:01.05 (2001); 200 m IM – 2:05.15 (2000); 400 m IM – 4:24.62 (2000).
