Biography

Erin Phenix was a gold medalist in the women’s 4x100 metre freestyle relay at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Phenix made the US team by placing sixth at the Olympic Trials in the 100 metre freestyle and competed in the heats at Sydney. At the 2001 World Championships she won two silver medals in the 4x100 free relay and the medley relay. Phenix grew up near Cincinnati and competed for the Cincinnati Marlins. She attended the University of Texas.

Phenix later married Cameron Smith, a dual citizen of the US and Canada, and they settled in Fairview, Alberta in Canada. He opened a brewery with a friend and they bought a greenhouse business which Erin Phenix-Smith runs. The greenhouse grows all the produce they need for the brewery.
