Biography

Laura Montalvo was an Argentine tennis player who played professionally from 1991 to 2001. Montalvo achieved a career-best singles ranking of #191 in the world in June 1995 and a doubles ranking of #23 in the world in May 2001. As a doubles specialist she was often paired with compatriot Paola Suárez, with the duo winning eight WTA titles together. Montalvo also won a WTA title with the Slovak player Henrieta Nagyová early in her career. At Grand Slams she reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon in 1998 and the French Open in 2000. Also in 2000 Montalvo and Suárez played in the doubles tournament at the Sydney Olympics.
