Biography

Oscar Chaplin competed for Team USA during the 1990s and 2000s, setting several national records in weightlifting, and he became a Junior World Champion in 2000. Chaplin competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the 2004 Athens Olympics, finishing 12th and 10th respectively.

After his retirement from competitive weightlifting, Chaplin worked with USA Weightlifting with its organisation of local and national events, as well as conducting coaching seminars. He was inducted into the USA Weightlifting Hall of Fame in 2016.
