Biography

Shawn McEachern skated left wing for Boston University from 1988-91, leading them to the final game of the 1991 NCAA Frozen Four, where they lost to Northern Michigan. McEachern was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1987 NHL entry draft. He played in the NHL from 1991-2006, appearing in 911 games, scoring 256 goals and 579 points. He started out with the Penguins, winning a Stanley Cup with them in 1992, but later played for the Los Angeles Kings, Ottawa Senators, Atlanta Thrashers, and Boston Bruins. During the 1994-95 strike season McEachern played for Kiekko-Espoo in Finland. He also played parts of the 2004-05 season with the IF Malmo Redhawks in Sweden. McEachern skated for the US at the 1992 Winter Olympics, the 1991 World Championships, and the 1997 World Cup.
