Biography

Fernand Mermoud was a French cross-country skier who was active during the 1930s. Mermoud was part of the team that came ninth in the 4 × 10 kilometres relay at the 1936 Garmisch-Partenkirchen Olympics. He also competed in the 18 kilometres events at the Games, finishing 37th. During World War II Mermoud served with the 6th Battalion, chasseurs alpins, where he was killed in action in June 1940 during the Battle of France.
