Biography

Vigilio Mich was an Italian cross-country skier in the 1950s. He competed at the 1956 Olympic Winter Games in Cortina in the 50 km, finishing 16th. In 1955, he had placed second over 50 km at the Italian championships.

After finishing his sporting career, Mich joined the military club of Fiamme Gialle at the Alpine school of Predazzo as a ski technician. He became one of the principal pioneers of winter tourism at Passo Rolle and a member of the group promoting the ski trails in Pampeago and Bellamonte. With his family, his wife and three sons, Mich founding the society which managed the famous Capanna Cervino, one of the preferred tourist destinations in northern Italy.
