Biography

Axel-Herman Nilsson just missed the medal positions in all his three Olympic events. In 1924 he was the best non-Norwegian on fifth place in Nordic combined and in sixth place in the ski jumping, behind four Norwegians and an American of Norwegian descent. In 1928, he was even closer to a medal, finishing fourth in the jumping. Between 1922-24 he won three consecutive Swedish ski jumping titles and added another championship in 1926 with his club team Djurgårdens IF.
