Biography

Italy’s Antonio Nitto had a short career as a speed skater, competing in three events at the 1960 Squaw Valley Olympics. Nitto’s best result came in the 1,500 metres where he finished in 25th place, with top-30 placings in the 500 and 5,000 metres. A year after the Olympics he retired from the sport at the age of 23, but later returned to compete in masters competitions from 1999 to 2012. Nitto spent ten years as the President of the Geas Ghiaccio ice skating club before being elected as the President of the Sesto sports club in 2016.

Personal Bests: 500 – 43.6 (1961); 1500 – 2:13.9 (1961); 5000 – 8:15.8 (1961); 10000 – 17:00.3 (1961).
