Biography

Janne Ojanen has played most of his career from 1985 with one club – Tappara Tampere – except for short spells in the NHL, where he played with the New Jersey Devils from 1988-90 and 1992-93 and in Sweden, where he played with Malmö IF from 1996-98. With Tappara, Ojanen won four Finnish titles (1986-88, 2003) and was selected as the MVP of SM-liiga in 2002, when he led the league in scoring. Internationally Ojanen won silver in 1988 and bronze at the 1994 Winter Olympics. He was a World champion in 1995, won silver at the 1994 World Championships and bronzes at the 1987 European Championships and 1991 Canada Cup. He also played for Finland at the 1996, 1997 and 2002 World Championships.
