Biography

In the Polish ice hockey leagues Stanisław Olczyk played in approximately 600 matches during his long career. Olczyk began playing with Wlokniarz Zgierz in the 1947–48 season and joined Legia Warszawa in 1954. With Warszawa he won seven Polish league titles (1954–57, 1959, 1961, 1963) and finished second on three further occasions (1958, 1960, 1962). He returned to Zgierz in 1963 where he remained until his retirement in 1971. Olczyk also played in 83 matches for the Polish national team, including competing at five editions of the World Championships and two Olympic Games.
