Biography

Ice hockey player Fritz Poitsch finished eighth with the German team at the 1952 Oslo Winter Olympic Games, and in 1953 won the silver medal at the World Championships. He won 36 international caps, and in 1949 was German Champion with his club SC Riessersee. In 1950 he moved to Krefelder EV, before returning to Riessersee in 1952. At the end of his career he played one season for EV Rosenheim in 1961. After his playing career he coached EV Rosenheim and EC Inzell. He was later inducted into the German Ice Hockey Hall of Fame.
