Biography

Kjell Søbak was a Norwegian biathlete who competed at the 1980 and 1984 Winter Olympics, winning a silver medal in the relay at the 1984 Sarajevo Olympics. Søbak also won two relay medals at the World Championships, with a silver medal at Minsk in 1982 and a bronze medal at Antholz in 1983. He won two World Cup races in his career, a sprint at Karlovy Vary in January 1981, and a full distance race at Lahti in March 1982. In the seasonal World Cup standings Søbak was second in 1980/81 and third in 1981/82. He won three national titles in biathlon, and later working as a marketing director for an insurance company in Hamar.
