Biography

Benny Södergren won a bronze medal in the 50 km cross-country during the 1976 Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck. He originally ranked only third on the Swedish team, but gradually advanced from ninth place at the first split time. His well-paced finish earned Sweden their only Nordic skiing medal at the 1976 winter Olympics. His only Swedish Championship came in 1976 in the relay. Södergren later ran Södergrens Metallindustri, which he inherited from his father together with two brothers and is responsible for marketing.
