After attending the local high school, Hiroshi Tadano worked in office of the Sapporo Railway Administration. At the 1935 All Japan Ski Championships, which served as trials for the 1936 Winter Olympics, he placed third in the endurance cross country race over 56 km. Tadano was selected for the Japanese Olympic team and competed in all three events in cross country skiing as well as in alpine skiing. After the Games, he won consecutive titles in 50 km cross country at the 1937 and 1938 All Japan Ski Championships. Articles written by Tadano were published in the 1950s in the Japanese Ski Yearbook.
