Andrey Tarasenko was a Russian ice hockey player whose career spanned from 1984 until 2006. Tarasenko began his career with Sibir Novosibirsk before joining SKA Novosibirsk for the 1987–88 season. After a brief spell with SKA he joined Torpedo Yaroslavl in 1989, staying with the club until the end of the 1995–96 season. From there he spent five seasons with Lada Togliatti where he became the top scorer in the Russian Championship and the league’s MVP in the 1997–98 season. Tarasenko returned to play for Sibir in 2001 before ending his playing career in Kazakhstan, playing for Kazakhmys Satpaev.
Tarasenko also represented the Russian national team that finished fourth at the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics, playing in eight matches and scoring two goals. The following year he played in six matches at the Ice Hockey World Championships in Sweden. After his retirement he worked as a coach at his former club Sibir from 2008 until 2024. His son Vladimir played in the ice hockey tournament at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
