Biography

West German flatwater canoeist Gilbert Schneider was on the K-4 1,000 team at the 1988 Seoul Olympics that finished sixth. He also won two bronze medals at the ICF Flatwater Canoe World Championships, with the K-4 500 in 1986, and K-4 10,000 in 1987. Also in 1986, he won the German national K-1 1,000 title. Schneider later worked with the flower shop of his parents-in-law at his hometown Mondorf.
