Biography

Born in Puerto Rico, Jonny Moseley was the first skier from that state to make the US Ski Team. His family relocated to California when he was a child, and while in high school, he joined the Squaw Valley Freestyle Ski Team, won the Junior Nationals in freestyle, and shortly after graduating from high school in 1993, he made the US team. Moseley won his first World Cup moguls event in 1996. In 1998 he improved, winning the first two World Cup events of the year, and continued to dominate the circuit, winning the gold medal on moguls in Nagano. During that season he won nine events, was US champion, and won the season World Cup. After his ski career ended, Moseley became an investor in the new television network, The Ski Channel, along with numerous other well-known skiers and celebrities. He had started college in 1995 at UC Davis, but put his education on hold because of his ski career. However, in 2007 he graduated from U Cal Berkeley with a degree in American studies.
