Description

Antissa is located on the island of Lesbos, which belongs to present day Greece, but is off the coast of Turkey. The city was destroyed by the Romans after the defeat of Macedonian king Perseus in 168 BCE. That same year, Aristandos won the stadion race at Olympia, Antissa’s first and final Olympic title.
