As in 1928 there were three painting events in the 1932 Arts Competition – Drawings and Water Colors, Graphic Arts, and Paintings. There were 96 works submitted from 14 nations. Almost full sets of medals were awarded although there was no bronze medal in paintings. The jury consisted of well-known painters, sculptors, and museum directors, all but one from the United States.
