The two preliminary groups of the women’s Olympic handball tournament were won by Norway and Sweden. The quarter-finals were quite clear matches won by the ROC, Norway, Sweden and France. In the semi-finals France closely won against Sweden (29-27) and the ROC against Norway (27-26). The bronze medal was won by Norway who dominated Sweden 36-19. The final was a French triumph over the ROC 30-25. The top goalscorer was Norway’s Nora Mørk with 52 goals and the top goalkeeper, Katrine Lunde, also came from Norway with 37.5 % saves.
