Biography

German ice dancer René Lohse partnered Kati Winkler at the 1998 Nagano and 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. They finished tenth at Nagano and eighth at Salt Lake City. In 2004 they reached the podium at the World Championships, winning the bronze medal.

Lohse and Winkler won the German national title six times in 1996, 1998-2000 and 2003-04, and were also the last East German Champions in 1990. Lohse later became a graduated sports and tourism manager and also worked as a figure skating coach in Berlin.
