Biography

Canadian-born Simon Wheeldon was an Austrian ice hockey Olympian in 1998 at Nagano and 2002 at Salt Lake City. A left wing, he finished 14th and 12th with the Austrian team respectively. In total, he earned 33 international caps and scored 10 points (10 goals and 7 assists).

Before Wheeldon moved to Austria, he played in North America in the minor leagues with Victoria Cougars (1983-86), New Haven Nighthawks (1986-87), Colorado Rangers (1987-88), Denver Rangers (1988-89), Flint Spirits (1989-90), Moncton Hawks (1990-91), and the Baltimore Skipjacks (1991-1992).

In Austria Wheeldon played with VEU Feldkirch (1993-99 and 2002-04). In between he moved to Germany to München (Munich) Barons. He helped Feldkirch win the Austrian national titles from 1994-98 (also the European Hockey League in 1998) and then won the German national title with München in 2000.
