Biography

From 1962 to 1972 Pentti Koskela played as an ice hockey goaltender in Finland’s SM-Liiga where he won two Finnish championships. Koskela represented Pallo-Veikko, Koovee, and Ilves in domestic matches, playing in more than 90 games during his career. He won his first championship title in 1968 with Koovee, with his second title coming in 1972 with Ilves. Koskela also played in 23 matches for the Finnish national team. He was named in the squad for the 1968 Grenoble Olympics, but did not play in any matches during the tournament, with Urpo Ylönen playing in goal.
