Biography

Rich Fellers was a show jumping Olympian who competed at the 2012 London Olympics. He won a bronze medal at the 1991 Pan American Games in team jumping. In 2012 and 2015 he won the Fédération Internationale Equestre World Cup Jumping Final.

Later a jumping coach, in 2021 Fellers was arresting for sexually abusing one of his 17-year-old female athletes. His wife, who divorced him in early 2023, caught them together at an Airbnb near a horse show in Michigan. Both Fellers and his wife were later ruled ineligible to participate in equestrian sport by the US Center for SafeSport.

In July 2023 Rich Fellers pleaded guilty to engaging in illicit sexual conduct with a minor and two counts of second-degree sexual abuse in a federal courthouse in Portland, Oregon. He was sentenced to four years in federal prison as well as a 30-month concurrent sentence in Washington County, Oregon.
