Biography

German cyclist Vera Hohlfeld placed an unfortunate fourth in the individual road race at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. From 1995-97 she was runner-up at the German nationals. In 1993, she was German champion in the individual road time trial. In 1996, she won the Mallorca Women’s Tour, and also participated several times at the Grande Boucle Féminine Internationale, the Giro d’Italia Femminile, and several other road tours.

Hohlfeld later became self-employed in the field of financial services and sports marketing. She also took over the management of the Women’s Thuringia Tour in 2010. Besides this, she was active in regional politics at her hometown Erfurt.
