A carpenter by trade, Helge Fladby also competed as an amateur cyclist during the late 1910s and early 1920s. In 1917 Fladby won the junior edition of the King’s Cup road race in Oslo. Three years later he competed at the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics, where he finished 28th in the road race and eighth in the combined team event.
