Biography

In 1928, Gottlieb Wanzenried competed in the Olympic road race without distinction. In that year, he was also 10th in the World Championships, and third at the Swiss championship. Wanzenried turned professional in 1931 with a modicum of success. He was Swiss motor-paced champion in 1934 and 1937. He competed in both the Tour de France and Tour de Suisse, but did not finish either race.
