Biography

Christina Zachariadou was a Greek tennis player who played professionally from 1990 to 2004. Zachariadou achieved a career-best singles ranking of #358 in the world in October 2003, and a doubles ranking of #186 in the world in September 1985. She played on Greece’s Fed Cup team from 1990 to 2004.

Zachariadou won 12 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit from October 1991 to March 2003, winning her first title in Freeport, Bahamas, with Dutch partner Hellas ter Riet. Zachariadou also won three ITF singles titles with all her victories taking place in her home country. She competed in the doubles at three Olympic Games; 1992 Barcelona, 1996 Atlanta, and 2004 Athína. For her first two Olympic appearances she partnered Christina Papadaki, with Eleni Daniilidou partnering her at her home Olympics. Zachariadou and Papadaki won gold in the doubles at the 1997 Mediterranean Games.
