Biography

Taymi Chappé was born in Habana but later settled in Spain and competed for that nation at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Chappé was a World Champion in épée in 1990 while still representing Cuba. She helped Spain win the World team épée title in 1994 and won the World Cup that year, in which she also reached a world ranking of #1. Taymi Chappé was the daughter of Cuban basketball player, Pedro Chappé, who played at three Olympic Games, winning a bronze medal in 1972.
