Biography

Marianne Sjöblom competed for Helsinfors Fäktare. In addition to her 1952 Olympic performance she was Finnish Champion in 1954, and competed at the 1953 World Championships. Her brother, Nils-Robert Sjöblom, won over 60 Finnish titles with various weapons, and later served as President of the Finnish Fencing Federation. Her father, Nils Sjöblom, also competed at the 1952 Olympics, as well as in 1948. Marianne Sjöblom later settled in Switzerland.
